Over Summer i was lucky enough to be able to visit france for a few weeks. In the local town was a beautiful cathedral – Saint – Nicholas des E’aux – hosting as the main cathedral of a chain holding an art exhibition – L’Artes des la chapels. The exhibitions were interesting but slight too fine arty for my tastes, however the buildings used to house the art were what  drew my attention most. The internal arcs and archways, towering decorative ceilings and the colourful pattern narratives of the stain-glass windows – architectural art in their own right. I love patterns and wanted to bring in somemore textile elements into my work this year, using architectural spaces and buildings to influence and create a furniture/textile design piece.
