The drawer runners are quite slim line in nature and use a ‘push-to-open’ mechanism that will allow the drawers to open when weight is placed on the front panel of each runner, when attached to the drawer.
I had to attach the runners to the sides of the cabinet before the cabinet was assembled. This part of the assembly/attachment was crucial, as it affect the movability of the runners to work as intended if they are placed even slightly out of sync, this will offset the drawers as a unit.
As the measurements needed to be so specific, i really took my time with this, each drawer will be 11.3 cm high, with a 3mm tolerance spacer/gap between each so that the drawers wont touch, yet the gap is small enough that you can’t see into the drawer – yet the angled front of the drawer should provide a certain amount of coverage for the gap. Each space/ measurement was drawn and checked, using a ruler, and drawn square with the edge using a try/engineers square to ensure its perpendicular to the edge of the cabinet.
Once everything was marked out the runners were placed, accurately, along the pencil line, and the screw hole were marked out and indented with a bradawl and attached to the side of the cabinet using a hand held screwdriver and tiny 12mm screws.
